Optima Batteries are the most advanced AGM battery in today's market. The Optima is constructed by using spirally wound cells. This gives an Optima AGM battery many advantages over conventional flat plate batteries and other flat plate AGM batteries

This construction of Spirally wound cells has vital advantages for Deep Cycle batteries. As an Optima AGM battery has these spiral cells it allows the use of lead in its purest form. This contributes to a lower resistance allowing Optima Deep cycle batteries to handle high discharge and recharge rates.

Charging an Optima AGM battery via a 100 amp alternator from 100% flat (10.5 volts) will only take around 35 minutes. This example is for Optima D27F Deep cycle batteries

Optima Deep cycle batteries also rated very accurately in amp hours (C20 rate). Most deep cycle batteries maybe rated at 100 amp hours, but you can only discharge 70% of this, where as with Optima Deep cycle batteries you can discharge 100%.

An Optima AGM battery has a shelf life of 12 - 18 months, as opposed to a flat plate battery that may sulphate in 3 -6 months. Optima AGM batteries is 15 times more resilient to vibration than conventional batteries.

An exciting advantage of Optima deep cycle batteries is that it doubles as an excellent start battery. Quite often they have more start power than the average Start battery. An Optima AGM battery is also a non hazardous product, as it has no leakage or terminal corrosion it can be mounted on its side. It can even be shipped by air.
